Starting Thursday, August 5, 2021, the Manheim Community Library is asking patrons over the age of 2 to wear a mask over their mouth and nose. If you’d rather not wear a mask, you may use our lobby pick-up service during library hours and our online resources 24/7. The Library will continue to hold in-person programs, but masks will be required for all indoor in-person programs. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and revise our mask guidelines.
Thanks for your patience and understanding as we muddle through these unprecedented times.
Manheim Community Library is currently open for in-person browsing. Public computer use and print/copy/fax services are also available. You may also choose to use our pick-up service, Library to Go, during regular hours.

Library to Go
Library to Go pick ups will be available in the lobby of the Borough building. Pick ups may be made during regular Library hours.
- Holds – Specific items from Manheim Community Library or any of Lancaster County’s public libraries may now be requested using the Library System of Lancaster County’s holds system. This is the procedure that was used prior to the COVID-19 shutdown. Patrons search for items in the library catalog and request delivery at Manheim Community Library.
- “Library Pick” lets patrons request items without having a specific title in mind. Library staff will make personalized selections based on responses to the form on the Library to Go page.
- Pick ups – Holds and Library Pick materials will continue to be available for pick up in the lobby of the borough building. After receiving an email that their hold is in, patrons call the Library (717-665-6700) to schedule pick up. Patrons may then stop by during regular hours on or after the scheduled day to pick up their items.
Library materials may be returned to the book drop located on the outside of the building or inside at the desk. We are no longer quarantining returned items.
Since March 2020, Manheim Community Library has waived overdue fees during the COVID-19 epidemic. Beginning with items checked out on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, overdue fines will be charged for any item returned late.
The expanded services are part of the Library’s commitment to serve the public while maintaining the safety of staff and patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic until a full return to normal operations can be made.
